Reflection: One day at a time

I made a journal entry yesterday that I’d like to share here because today one of my daughters discussed the same subject in her own life. I thought it was interesting that we were both reflecting on the same topic.

Journal entry, January 7, 2009

There have been fewer moments of panic for me since we have arrived in Guatemala. The transition time was the most difficult…the gap in between “here” and “there.”

But, of course, we are always between “here” and “there,” caught in the gap between one breath and the next. It is only within the arrogance of the ego that we believe we know what the future will bring.

So, in the gap between Oklahoma and Guatemala, lies the seeds of possibility and transformation. Who knows what things may come? I can be at peace with that.
